N2 - FM multiplex broadcasting is developing quickly at present. According to actual applications, the authors calculated the bandwidth occupied by a FM multiplex broadcasting system in conditions with different multiplex modulation index, different frequency deviation in main channel and subchannel. It is indicated from the results that multiplex modulation index should never exceed 30% in order to ensure the broadcast working properly. Another conclusion is made that the frequency deviation of RDS channel can be more than 4kHz when RDS working only.
