Abstract

In deep space exploration mission, the navigation scheme of the cruise phase is the key technology to research. Based on the special characters, an autonomous optical navigation scheme was provided. It includes how to get the suitable navigation asteroids, how to set up the navigation system, and how to present a successful navigation algorithm. The rules of selecting the asteroids were colligated and form the new criterion. A method to get the reasonable quantity of asteroid of each navigation process was provided. Then a navigation algorithm using the recursive weighted least square based on UD factorization was proposed. The results of simulation show that the navigation scheme is reasonable and the accuracy is better than the DS1 mission. The errors of position are less than 100km and the errors of velocity are less than 0.3m/s.
