Abstract
Solar sail spacecraft which is composed of four parts-sail film, structural booms, control boom, reaction wheel, and payload mass was studied. Multi-body dynamic modal of solar sail spacecraft was established using the Lagrange Equation. Then, the controllability and stability of the solar sailcraft attitude control system was analyzed. A linear quadratic regular controller was found to control the three-axis attitudes. Finally, this paper runs the nonlinear system and controller through a series of simulations to determine the effectiveness of the attitude controller and characterize the behavior of attitude control method using control boom and reaction wheel.
