Abstract
Perfluoro rubber seal ring has the characteristics of high-temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, and wear resistance. It is widely used in the fields of aerospace, weaponry and ships, and petrochemical industries. Currently, there is a lack of systematic evaluation of the sealing performance of perfluoro rubber seal rings. Therefore, a simulation method for the assembly of perfluoro rubber sealing rings at different temperatures and an analysis method for sealing performance are proposed. A multiscale analysis framework spanning from the macroscopic assembly simulation to the microscopic contact and leakage rate calculation is constructed. A temperature-dependent hyperelastic constitutive model for perfluoroether rubber is established. The macroscopic stress and deformation of perfluoro rubber seal ring are simulated, and a microscopic contact model of the sealing interface is developed to solve for the microscopic leakage channels. Theaccurate calculation of the leakage rate for perfluoro seal rings is achieved based on the simulation of fluid flow within these microchannels. The influences of temperature, roughness and compression amount on the sealing performance are systematically investigated. An airtightness test bench is built to experimentally measure the leakage rate of the perfluoro rubber seal ring, thus validating the reliability and accuracy of the proposed simulation method. The results indicate that both high and low temperatures lead to degradation in sealing performance, and the effect of low-temperature environment on sealing performance is more pronounced.
