Abstract

Space vector modulation (SVM) has so many advantages such as low switch frequency and high DC voltage usage. In order to depict the essence of SVM, simplify the realization of SVM and bring out new modulation method, this paper presents an Active Area Vector (AAV) method by using the three-phase full bridge DC-AC inverter as the base model. The relation between AAV and switch states is analyzed, and the equivalence among different AAVs is also calculated. Based on DSP controller and the feature of AAV, the authors present a new way, which can decrease the computation obviously in SVM, to calculate the sector number and time. The simulations and experiments prove that the method based on AAV above is effective, and the AAV application in SVM is successful.
