Abstract
In order to enhance the utilization of water resources and management capacity, 512 bit SHA-1 encryption algorithm was studied in the design of prepaid intelligent water meter based on TM card to ensure data security. SHA-1 algorithm in small space was also further brought forward. The high-performances of prepaid water meter were indicated by analysis of the performances of DS1961s. Hardware structure and software structure of water meter system were presented, as well as the design philosophy of partial modules. Test results on laboratory condition showed that the intelligent water meter involved is of promising market prospect.
