Abstract
The general type-2 fuzzy sets are applied in the computing with words (CWW) for hierarchical decision making and a new questionnaire approach is introduced. The proposed questionnaire approach makes the established general type-2 fuzzy sets better describe a word, and its application in computing with words better deals with the difficulties and subjective factors faced in the evaluation process. The data is collected from a questionnaire approach by asking a specific question and 40 samples are collected for each word. The experiment by MATLAB shows that general type-2 fuzzy sets are applied in computing with words and through the journal publication judgment advisor (JPJA) example, it is confirmed that the measurement accuracy of the decoder part for general type-2 fuzzy sets is higher than that of the interval type-2 fuzzy sets by 14.5% with the same choice. This example provides an effective basis for the application of general type-2 fuzzy sets in other decision-making systems.
