Abstract
During the last ten years, click chemistry has become a powerful tool for materials modification and application for their number of advantages such as readily available starting material, mild reaction conditions, high reliability, high reaction rate, high yield, good stereoselectivity, high oxygen and moisture stability, simple workup and easy purification. A large number of recent original publications and specialized reviews have focused on applications of the click reaction technique in the biomedical fields. In the current chapter, the progress on preparation via click reaction and application of the multifunctional and intelligent materials for chemical sensor in biomedical field, pharmaceutical science and gene transfer carriers is summarized. The limitations and prospective applications of the click chemistry technique in these fields are also discussed.
