Abstract

Application of carbon nanotube supported nickel/aluminum mixed oxide in the synthesis of carbon nanotubes was presented. It was found that Ni/Al mixed oxides supported by multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWNT) could be used as a catalyst precursor for the synthesis of MWNTs. The synthesized MWNTs were open at the ends and active phase particles were easily removed from the carbon nanotube product.
