Application of antenna radiation pattern in GPS simulation experiment

Abstract

Simulation platform was established using GSS6560 GPS simulator from Spirent Company. Vehicle attitude and antenna radiation pattern of the receiver were considered during the simulation. The influence of vehicle's attitude variation on the received satellite signals was simulated. Experiments were carried out for comparison under different conditions with or without vehicle's attitude variation and antenna radiation pattern. The variation of satellite signal power was analyzed and influence of vehicle's attitude variation on the performance of receiver was validated. This simulation provides a more actual simulation environment for GPS receiver test and integrated navigation system hardware-in-the-loop simulation with GPS receiver.
