Abstract

A co-simulation method was applied to build a dynamic model for a passenger car. In the model all influence parameters, structure of air spring itself and additional volume were considered completely. This model was built in DSHplus and exported into Matlab/Simulink model of the full car as a block. The body movements such as body travel, pitch, roll and yaw were calculated by considering of tyre, steering, spring, damper and anti-roll bar. With the co-simulation between the air spring model and the full car model, the body movements including the roll angle were calculated and compared with the test data. The results show that the simulation and test results fit closely. Therefore the co-simulation method is an effective and feasible way to deal with the dynamic analysis of a passenger car with some complicated subsystems.
