Abstract

In this paper, we propose a new method to analyze the effect of antenna pattern on multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) capacity. The method is based on spatial channel model (SCM) and couples antenna gain to the channel propagation matrix. To investigate the effect of antenna pattern on MIMO capacity, we employ omni antenna and directive antenna realized by dipole antenna. Simulation results show that capacity performance under the same environment varies with different antenna pattern.
