Abstract
Aiming at solving the problems in traditional data envelopment analysis (DEA) model and applying the method in the efficiency analysis of multimodal transportation terminal, the two-stage DEA method is introduced to evaluate the operational efficiency of terminal. This paper presents a study that uses the two-stage DEA method to estimate the operational efficiency of transportation terminals. The output of this analysis from the operators' perspective can not only provide us the efficiency order, but also the information which may adjust the inefficient terminals to efficient ones. The input and output variables are defined, followed by a case study on ten multimodal terminals. The findings and limitations of the two-stage DEA method are also discussed.
