Abstract
To modulate the burning rates of composite BAMO-THF propellant, the effects of combustion catalysts Fe2O3, OME, OMB on its combustion performance were studied through burning-rate measurement, thermal analysis, scanning electron microscope. Results showed that all of them can increase the burning rates and decrease the burning-rate pressure exponents. Thermal analyses indicated that catalyst Fe2O3 does not affect the thermal decomposition of the BAMO-THF binder system. Both of OME and OMB can decrease initial thermal decomposition temperatures of composite BAMO-THF propellants. Through scanning electron microscopy it was found that the quenched surface morphologies of propellants are different from each other.
