Analysis on damage probability of EFP warhead missile system

Abstract

Based on the remarkable directional property of Explosive Formed Penetrator (EFP) warhead missile, the variation of attitude angle was considered adequately, and the calculation method of damage probability was studied on the basis of the attitude restrictions of missile. The calculation formula of damage probability under attitude restrictions at preliminary design stage was presented. Based on the practice probability statistic, the approximate probability distribution involved in the formula was studied. Integral limits of altitude parameters influencing the value of damage probability were discussed. By several examples of calculation under different encounter conditions of missile and target, the effect of attitude of missile on damage probability was analyzed. The result shows that the effect is significant, and the method of damage probability under attitude restrictions coincides with the practice.
