Abstract

As a kind of energetic material, propellants can be decomposed and heat can be produced. If heat was not released in time and was accumulated, self-ignition would take place. For example, the self-ignition of two kinds of propellants stored in a experimental ground take place ever. It is considered that the self-ignition take place and igniting the other. In this paper, two kinds of propellants in which self-ignition have taken place are studied numerically, their mathematical model of the heat accumulation is established under the condition of insulation, the self-ignition time is calculated and the result is discussed and analyzed. It is determined that self-ignition take place in propellant No 1 first, then propellant No 2 is ignited. The critical temperatures of two kind of propellants under the condition of heat insulation are obtained, the basis of propellant safety is provided.
