Abstract

Energy consumption, energy efficiency and networks capacity are the key measurement indices for network performance. Based on the analysis of the energy consumption at sensor nodes, the energy consumption model and energy efficiency model under the multi-hop communication mode, and the analysis model for network capacity have been proposed for UWB based WSNs. The simulation results show that energy consumption and energy efficiency are seriously influenced by the network loads mode and sensor node distribution density, and network capacity will not linearly increase with the increase of the number of the nodes, which are in the concurrent communication status.
