Abstract

When the axis of the projectile and the axis of the tandem warhead do not coincide with each other, the effects of the detonation field of the precursory charge in the tandem warhead on the following velocity and attitude of the projectile the composition of warhead, were numerically simulated with the finite element code LS-DYNA3D. For the projectiles with different initial velocities, their backward jettison, yawing, attitude turnover and dynamics response under the field were studied. It can be found that, if the projectile has an initial velocity, the yawing and the attitude turnover can be reduced greatly, but the influences of the initial velocity on the backward jettison and dynamics response are weak. The conclusions are helpful for the engineering design of tandem warhead.
