Abstract

A solar collecting system with cylindrical Fresnel lens was presented in this paper. The collecting system is comprised of cylindrical Fresnel lens, solar tracker, heat exchanger and heat load etc. The design method of cylindrical Fresnel lens was also introduced. A lens with size of 0.65 m×1 m was produced industrially, which was used for setting up the solar collecting system. Finally, an experiment was carried out to test the performance of the solar collecting system. As the result shows, the collecting system can provide temperature higher than 200℃. When the temperature is lower than 100℃, the collection efficiency can be reaching to 60% during the noon time (about 10:00~14:00). When the time is about 14:00~15:00, the collection efficiency is about 38%. That is, the high-efficiency working time of the system is about 6 hours.
