Abstract
To solve the problem of the dietary energy intake imbalance and the excessive proportion of the overweight and fat people among Chinese, an individual dietary energy assessment method combining the BMI was proposed. Different dietary energy assessment criteria were proposed corresponding with different reasonable degree of weight, and the energy nutrition curve was used for quantitative assessment of the individual dietary energy intake. Experiments show that the average error rate using the method for individual dietary energy assessment is less than 1.70%. This method could accurately assess individual dietary energy intake conditions. The dietary energy scoring result is intuitive, convenient and practical and it is easy to understand. So the method is easy to popularize in the crowd. This method can be used for the general population to adjust their dietary energy intake and then provide dietary intervention guidance for malnourished, overweight and fat people.
