Abstract
An all-optical clock generation unit by a single semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) was presented. A push-pull type quasisine static modulation curve with the maximum modulation depth of over 20 dBm was obtained. A 10 GHz clock signal was transformed from the conventional 5 GHz optical clock. The carrier suppression ratio of ∼35 dB was achieved.
