Abstract
All fiber perimeter security system based on fiber optic vibration sensor is demonstrated. This system can be used in national border security applications. A prototype system is constructed and a perimeter intrusion experiment is taken. Experiment results verified that the prototype system is sensitive to the vibration generated by intrusion behaviors. Intrusion behaviors generate non-stable random signals, which have multiple amplitude peaks and which frequency is below 500 Hz. This characteristic is helpful for the auto recognition algorithms development. Winds in the testing field generate a low frequency background noise, which is below 300 Hz. This increases the recognition difficulties.
