Abstract

The adsorption behavior of strontium onto the polyantimonic acid from 0.01 mol/L HNO3 solutions was studied, including the static equilibrium adsorption, the adsorption thermodynamics properties and so on. In addition, study on adsorption kinetics of strontium on the polyantimonic acid was also investigated through static experiments. The effect of initial temperature on strontium sorption was evaluated. The results showed that the adsorption date fit well into the Freundlich isotherm, and the adsorption process was a complex interaction of physical and chemical processes. According to the capillary diffusion model, the effective diffusion coefficients were calculated with the equilibrium data and kinetic curve, and Diq,20°C was 8.18 × 10-9 cm2/s and Diq,30°C was 1.33 × 10-8 cm2/s.
