Abstract

This paper develops an adaptive bilayer cylindrical lens array design optimized for LCD subpixel architectures, enabling independent control of spatial resolution and viewpoint density in horizontal and vertical dimensions for light field 3D displays. The method matches cylindrical lens parameters to LCD subpixel geometries while incorporating human visual acuity constraints. Experimental validation demonstrates optimized performance with 0.056×0.056 spatial resolution and 6×56 viewpoints, yielding 29.78 dB PSNR and 0.91 SSIM, effectively resolving resolution-viewpoint trade-offs in light field 3D displays.
