Abstract
Based on the requirement of LD pumped highly stable single frequency NPRO laser, an accurate temperature control system is developed. By using program-controlled P and PI arithmetic, the temperatures of the LD and laser crystal are accurately controlled from -10°C to +70°C with an accuracy of ±0.01°C through driving the thermoelectric cooler (TEC). Using the temperature control system, stable single frequency laser output at 1645 nm is obtained in a LD pumped Er:YAG NPRO laser, with a relative wavelength stability of 8.32×10-7 in 30 minutes.
