Abstract

A vision based multiple-user small arms training simulation system is proposed for small arms training. The proposed system allows 16 users to interactive with the scene displayed on a projection screen size of 5.33m x 3m. Infrared tracking technology and the theory of projective transformation are introduced. 3 groups of infrared markers are used and an infrared marker identification algorithm is developed. With the adoption of distortion correction, better system accuracy is obtained. Experimental results show that the proposed system is robust, real-time, and accurate for multiple-user small arms training simulation. Its application is also found in amusement and game fields.
