Abstract

The hydrothermal reaction of H₂aip (aip^2- = 5-aminoisophthalate) and Cd(II) acetate dihydrate yields an unprecedented three-dimensional (3,4)-connected network, [Cd(aip)(H₂O)] · H₂O, with 6⁵8 topology and interesting photoluminescent behaviour in the solid state.
