Abstract

Based upon the signal to noise ratio of the image and static performance of thermal imaging systems, the effect of scene radiant characteristics to the visual range pre - diction of thermal imaging systems is studied in the prisent paper. The paper gives a method of correction for the temperature difference, grey body scene, background temperature and object with high temperature difference using computer simulation. It appears that the visual range prediction for practical systems given in the present paper is in concordance with test results.
