Abstract

For medium and heavy commercial vehicles using hydraulic power steering system existing problems such as steering power characteristics aren't adjustable and etc., a new type of electronically controlled hydraulic power steering system which is based on servo proportional electromagnetic valve was designed. The power characteristics of steering system and the classifications of power characteristics curves were introduced in this paper firstly, and a power characteristics curve was designed. Then the principle of fuzzy adaptive PID control was introduced and the CarSim/MATLAB co-simulation model is established. Through analyzing of the simulation results, theoretically verify the established system can realize the active control of road sense with the change of vehicle speed and improve the portability of steering control at low speed and stability at high speed.
