N2 - This paper presents the design of μ-synthesis control for Independent Drive Electric Vehicle, Applying this method, external disturbances and model uncertainties can be taken into consideration. The controller is set up based on the toolbox of MATLAB/SIMULINK and the weighting functions selection is discussed according to the actuator and the control performance index. In order to investigate the feasibility of the controller, simulations with different velocity and disturbances were employed, the simulation results show that the proposed controller can keep the car against modeling error, external disturbances and get good handling performance.
