Abstract

In this paper the dielectric tapered rod antennas are rigorously analyzed using the volume integral moment method enhanced by the fast Fourier transforms (FFT's). The propagation constant of the dielectric rod is extracted from the field solution to demonstrate accuracy of the approach. The convergence behavior is presented to show numerical performance of the approach for the dielectric tapered rod antennas. The radiation patterns of the dielectric tapered rod antennas are computed for different taper length. Numerical results confirm that the developed approach is suitable to analyze the dielectric tapered rod antennas.
