Abstract

With the wide application of high-voltage cables in urban power grids, its operating status monitoring is crucial to the safety of power systems. Traditional current detection methods have problems such as magnetic saturation, large volume, and narrow bandwidth, which are difficult to meet the high-performance requirements of new power systems. The current detection technology based on magnetic sensing has become an effective means of high-voltage cable current monitoring due to its advantages of non-contact, fast response and wide frequency band. In this paper, the principles, characteristics and application status of mainstream magnetic sensing technologies such as magnetic induction, Hall effect, optical current sensing, magnetic saturation effect and magnetoresistance effect are systematically reviewed. The current range, frequency response, temperature stability and other key properties of various technologies are compared. The potential of multi-sensor fusion technology in improving monitoring accuracy and reliability is further discussed. The review shows that the magnetic sensing technology is developing in the direction of high precision, intelligence and multi parameter fusion, which provides a strong technical support for the condition monitoring of high voltage cable.
