A Novel Synthetic L-Shaped Array Design for DOA Estimation

Abstract

In this paper, a novel synthetic L-shaped array(SLA) is presented for direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation by applying synthetic aperture technique to L-shaped array. We introduce a novel moving sampling strategy, which is easy to implement and significantly enlarges the 2D difference coarray region. The enhanced degrees of freedom and innovative design of SLA contribute to the successful attainment of precise DOA estimation results.
