A novel full-range ZVS hybrid converter with shared lagging leg

Abstract

A novel wide-range zero-voltage switching(ZVS) phase-shift full-bridge(PS-FB) converter is proposed in this paper. The proposed converter combining the FB and half-bridge(HB) LLC resonant converters' configuration with shared lagging leg. The output of LLC resonant circuit is connected to the DC bus, so the terminal output of the converter can be modulated at a constant frequency by FB totally. In order to reduce energy loss, the resonant current should be low enough in the condition of achieving ZVS of lagging leg. The operational principle and analysis of the proposed converter are presented and verified by the 3kW prototype.
