Abstract

Changing of routing policy is an important reason for BGP route oscillation. Current solutions can not check route oscillation by one node alone, which mostly require that each node should share correlative routing information and collaborate with each other. In this paper, we offer a novel approach that can check route oscillation only by routing information of one node whose routing policy has been modified. We define routing transformation tag (RTT) to record the event that routing policy has been modified at source node, make rules for transferring RTT forwards and judging oscillation at source node. We prove the approach for checking route oscillation at source node based on RTT is feasible, and demonstrate availability of this approach on traditional classical model.
