Abstract

The noncoherent code tracking loop with DOT discriminator algorithm is insensitive to gain imbalance. However, it does not have the advantages of code tracking loop with coherent algorithm since its algorithm is nonlinear, and its tracking speed is lower than that of the traditional code tracking loop. In order to overcome these disadvantages, a noncoherent normalization DOT discriminator algorithm is proposed. The new algorithm uses the structure of noncoherent code tracking loop, whereas it is coherent in essence. Thus, it relies on the carrier to a low degree and has larger linear range. The simulation results indicate that, compared with the existing discriminators, the code tracking loop with new algorithm has faster tracking speed and better performance.
