Abstract

This paper focuses on the model analysis and parameter adjustment procedure of the 4-coil wireless charging system (WCS). Different models for the 4-coil WCS, distinguished by considering the nonadjacent-coil influence or not, are analyzed respectively. The LLC and CLC 'T' compensation networks that are developed from the additional two coils in the 4-coil WCS are firstly proposed. An equivalent circuit model that takes the nonadjacent-coil influence into account has been analyzed in detail. And a practical parameter adjustment procedure, which could realize ZVS turn-on for MOSFETs and search for the optimum parameters, has been proposed. Finally, A WCS prototype with 87.7% efficiency from dc power source to load at 1.2 kW output power, 20cm wireless charging distance, is built up. Simulation and experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed parameter adjustment procedure.
