N2 - The FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) resources of implementing the signal modulation of CPM (continuous phase modulation), usually uses the principles of Rimoldi decomposition, which will consume a lot of resources. By introducing the methods of combining the principles of modulation with DDS (digital direct frequency synthesis), it can settle the waster of resources, especially for the savings of the multipliers and LUT (look-up table) resources of FPGA. And also, we will have a direct comparison and conclusion between the new methods and the traditional methods of Rimoldi decomposition. Meanwhile, Experiment results on the examples of MSK (minimum shift keying, which is a special case of CPM), shows that the new methods of modulation is available and feasible for the CPM using the frequency shape pulse of REC (rectangle). Therefore, the new methods can save the resources of FPGA, and will have a great impaction for the more complex signal modulation of CPM.
