Abstract

In this paper, a new gun simulator for shooting game based on background subtraction is studied for bright background. In the simulator, a camera is embedded in the gun. Using the camera, images of the game display screen, which has one LED(light-emitting diode) in each of its corners, are captured. By subtracting two images, one for the LED enlightened and the other not, we obtain a result having four bright spots with all black background. The coordinates of these four LEDs are calculated from this result. Then the virtual shooting point on the display screen can be obtained using a computation vision method. Experiments prove our method is reliable and effective.
