Abstract
Experimental results showed that the domain-switching in the ferroelectric materials depends on both electric fields and mechanical stresses. Several domain-switching criteria have been proposed in earlier studies to model these dependences. In this paper, these criteria are examined by making a comparison of their predictions and the available experimental data. It is found that most predictions cannot match the experimental results well. Based on domain-switching mechanisms, a new domain-switching criterion is proposed. It is found that the proposed criterion is in good agreement with experimental results.
