Abstract

Unmanned Aerial Vehicle mounted through-wall radar is an effective technology to detect targets behind obstacles. However, the azimuth velocity of moving target is unknown, leading to smeared radar image and affecting subsequent processing. Therefore, a refocus method based on maximizing energy accumulation is proposed. First, appropriate candidates of 2-D velocity are generated and then used for matched filters construction. Second, coarse imaging is performed using above filters and energy accumulation is employed. Third, the finely focused image is obtained by searching for the velocity based on energy accumulation maximization criterion. Both numerical simulation and field experiment validate the effectiveness of proposed method.
