Abstract

The concrete target penetrated by the ogive-nose projectile is numerically simulated with the AUTODYN code, and the parameters of the calculation are determined based on the experiment results. A series of numerical simulations of the concrete target with different size predrilled cavities penetrated by the projectile are developed. The target resistance of the concrete target in Teland's theory is redefined. By comparison with the numerical simulation results, it shows that the modified Teland's theory could well predict the final penetration of the concrete target with pre-drilled cavity penetrated by the ogive-nose projectile.
