Abstract

To improve the efficiency of usage and reduce the cost of management and errors of preparation for cutting tool, a methodology of integrated modeling and intelligent tracing for rapid cutting tool preparation was presented. In this proposed methodology, a selection strategy of cutting tool was introduced and a model of cutting tool preparation, simulation and optimization was created, which realizes to select cutting tool flexibly and optimize the cutting tool list and track. In addition, radio frequency identification (RFID) and multi-agent system (MAS) were applied to collect the data and trace the state of cutting tool in real time, which supports to prepare the cutting tool quickly and control each management module. Based on the management methodology, a management and control system for cutting tool was developed. The validity and feasibility of the methodology were proved by the practical application.
