A Fast Mutual Coupling Calculation Method for Multi-Antenna Systems

Abstract

This paper proposes a fast calculation method for the mutual coupling characteristics of multi-antenna system. In this method, an excitation signal with different frequency components is set for each antenna, and all antennas are excited at the same time. For antennas working in the same frequency band, the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signal with an orthogonal frequency component is used for excitation, and for antennas working in different frequency bands, a band signal with the corresponding center frequency is used for excitation. Taking the multi-antenna system of mobile phone as an example, the simulation results show that the calculation speed of the proposed method can be increased by about 34 % in the same frequency band and about 41 % in different frequency bands when the calculation results are in good agreement with the results of the conventional method.
