Abstract

In real-time application, systems based on DSPs are widely used for low cost and high performance industry and military data acquisitions in recently years. A data acquisition and processing module is being developed incorporating with TMS320VC33 digital signal processor for SINS (strapdown inertial navigation system). The module includes ADC channels, PWM temperature control unit, stepper motor control unit, high-speed and real-time data processing unit, four UART (universal asynchronous receiver and transmitter). This system takes DSP as the host computer, and two SCM (80c196) as the slave computers to setup the distributed structure. With the low cost, high speed and flexibility in hardware and software, the system presents a less expensive and high performance alternative platform for SINS.
