N2 - With the rapid development of Internet, security and privacy of the Domain Name System (DNS) are becoming increasingly important. Thanks to its decentralized structure and immutability, blockchain technology has the potential to address relevant security and privacy challenges in the DNS. In this paper, we survey the blockchain-based DNS for different architectures. We envision our study to motivate more studies on the DNS based on the blockchain.
