Abstract

A high range hydraulic impulse calibrator was designed to calibrate the sensitivity of pressure sensor in a compact device at GPa high pressure. The compressed gas drive technique was implanted. The impact velocity of hammer was controlled by the strength of dowel which controls the pressure of driving gas. A GPa magnitude impulsive pressure with duration of several ms could be induced by the new calibrator. The calibrator was used for calibration test, and the linear regression method was used in the data processing. The results show that the experimental data are of close agreement, and are identical with the factory sensitivity coefficient of sensor. The device was proved to have good practicability and reliability.
