3D numerical simulation of oblique penetration of projectile into multilayer medium target

Abstract

The process of penetrating multilayer medium below airstrip was numerically simulated by finite element code LS-DYNA3D. Based on different penetration velocity, penetration depth, penetration time, bomb-pose and response of bomb-stress were analyzed. The rules of the penetration process and the dynamic respond of the bomb were obtained. While the bomb passing the line of the different medium, the turn velocity of the bomb-pose was accelerated. When the penetration depth passes the line of different medium, the change measures of the dynamic respond give a spring. The numerical results are in a good agreement with the experimental data.
