Abstract

An optic fiber loop test-bed based on 10.7 Gb/s WDM system with a high birefringence fiber Sagnac loop gain equalization filter was realized, and the BER of system is less than 3×105 (without FEC). Configured as computer simulation optimizing, a transmission experiment of 10.7Gb/s×16 channels over 1600 km single mode fiber (SMF), with single loop length 240 km, loss more than 80 dB, was successfully conducted. After 7 loops transmission, more than 5 dBm unflat of channel power is avoided by the novel GEF.
