Abstract

This paper summarizes the achievements made in the development of the National Undergraduate Engineering Training Integration Ability Competition, and analyzes the shortcomings of the competition in the aspects of multi-subject participation mechanism, competition-course integration mode and university-enterprise collaborative platform. Focusing on the cultivation of engineering practice and innovation ability of new engineering talents, the systematic reform ideas were formulated and the competition system was reconstructed. By promoting teaching and learning through competition, talent cultivation under competition-course integration mode was facilitated. By promoting reformation and construction on competition, the competition projects were organically integrated into the teaching process of engineering training for the all-round development of student’s knowledge, ability and accomplishment, the competition system which in accordance with the characteristics of new engineering, such as converged, integrated, innovative, shared and intelligent, and the education platform for engineering practice and innovation was established. Eventually, the reformation has achieved remarkable results and thus, the National Undergraduate Engineering Training Integration Ability Competition was successfully transformed and upgraded into the China College Students’ Engineering Practice and Innovation Ability Competition.
